 Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-surgical option for musculoskeletal injuries to relieve pain by promoting long lasting healing of musculoskeletal conditions. Platelet-rich plasma or PRP is an “autologous blood therapy” that uses a patient’s own blood components to stimulate a healing response in damaged tissues. PRP provides an alternative to surgery by promoting safe and natural healing.

Physical TherapyPhysical Therapy is an integral component of care at Orlando Spine & Joint. Physical Therapy defined is a treatment that helps individuals improve or restore physical function, reduces pain, assists in the healing process and ultimately prevents disability. We properly evaluate and diagnose joint motion dysfunction and based upon the individual and their diagnosis, develop specific care plans that may include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, electrotherapeutic modalities and or physical agents such as ice or heat. Physical health care is constantly evolving. We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the curve and travel thousands of miles each year for continuing education and seminars. This enables us and ensures that we provide our patients the most up to date care and technologically advanced equipment available in the market today.
Trigger Point InjectionsTrigger Point Injection or TPI is a treatment used at Orlando Spine & Joint to alleviate pain from a tight or spastic area of a muscle that does not relax. These knots irritate nerves and cause referred pain to other areas of the body. Trigger points may result from injury or trauma or a chronic overuse situation. Essentially any physical, chemical or emotional stress may result in a trigger point. A small needle, either with or without medication is inserted into the trigger point. The knot is then made inactive and the pain is alleviated. Multiple sites may be injected in one visit and the procedure itself takes only minutes to perform. Again, we use TPI only as part of a solution to correct an underlying problem. The goal is to get the patient out of pain so that he or she may begin a therapy program to sustain long term relief and ultimate resolution.
LumboSacral OrthosisLumbosacral bracing is a critical component of pain relief, functional mobility and post treatment stabilization. At Orlando Spine & Joint we understand that the healing process takes time and life doesn’t necessarily slow down to accommodate for low back pain. We utilize bracing to help facilitate healing and also to provide much needed stability to compromised areas while patients engage in activities of daily living. Orlando Spine & Joint is a licensed DME provider and our braces are stocked on site so our patients are not inconvenienced by having to travel to another facility to be sized and fitted.
Massage Therapy

Many forms of massage therapy are offered in each Orlando Spine and Joint clinic. Here are the most commonly requested methods:

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE (MFR) – a three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to eliminate fascial restrictions. Gentle pressure is applied in the direction of the restriction. Recommended for relief of cervical pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, neurological dysfunction, restriction of motion, chronic pain, and headaches.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY – used to relieve muscular pain and dysfunction through applied pressure to trigger points of referred pain and through stretching exercises. These points are defined as localized areas in which the muscle and connective tissue are highly sensitive to pain when compressed.

MEDICAL MASSAGE – employs knowledge in pathology and utilizes specific treatments appropriate to working with pain, and recovery from injury. The massage therapist assess and treats muscle imbalances that are at the source of pain. Call our clinic to find out more!
